St Wilfred’s RC Primary were this years winners. More than 300 pupils took part in the Vale Royal School Sport Partnership’s Tag Rugby Festival when the Hartford school ran out victors in a close fought final. They beat Charels Darwin 6-4.
It was great to see so many new people taking part” said Chris Story, partnership development manager. “We hope many more children will now take up the sport within one of our local clubs”. Northwich RUFC hosted the event at their Moss Farm home, where 28 teams were split across seven qualifying groups. The eventual finalists were joined by St Mary’s Middlewich and Sandiway in the last four, where only one try separated the sides in both matches. St Wilrids and Charels Darwen now represent Vale Royal at the Cheshire & Warrington final at Maccelsfield.
