October 24th U17’s vs Fleetwood (Away) Lost 28-7 A dissapointing result for Northwich, Fleetwood scored all their points in the first half with four converted tries by their livier three quarters. Northwich were further hampered by an injury to centre Tom Stringer who had to leave the field. Half time Fleetwood 28 Northwich 0. The 2nd half revealed a better performance from the forwards aided by flyhalf Craig Millington. The Northwich pack totally dominate in this period but could only produce one try through 2nd rower Matey Waters, converted by Craig Millington. Return to fixtures
November 6th U17’s vs Littleborough Won 36-5 Played on a very muddy pitch this game was dominated by the Northwich pack.Centre Ben Walton scored first from a fine handling move from the threequarters. This was conveted by Mike Bradley.Littleborough replied with a fine solo effort from their No 8 .Two further tries engineered by the forwards through Drew Walker and Robert Stagg with one converted made the score at halftime score Littleborough 5 Northwich 19. With the slope in their favour the Northwich pack continued to master the match with tries from Henry Chambers and again from Drew Walker. The try of the match was scored by outside centre Andy Oultram who scampered 40m through the Littleborough defence to touch down. This was deservedly converted by Mike Bradley. Return to fixtures
November 28th U17’s vs West Park (Home) Lost 14-24 In a hard fought match against a team two leagues higher the score should have been a lot closer, but Northwich let themselves down with poor tackling to enable west park to score four tries of which two were converted. It was Northwich who went ahead first with a fine individual score by centre Mike Bradley who broke through on the halfway line chipped ahead then scooped the ball up just before the try line to touch down. The try was converted by Craig Millington. West Park replied with two fine tries before half time both converted. Half time Northwich 7 West Park 14 Straight from the kickoff Northwich pressurised West park whose attempted clearance kick was charged down from the ensuing maul Prop Forward Robert Stagg peeled off and bulldozed his way over, again the try was converted by Craig Millington. With the scores level it was an evenly fought contest for most of the 2nd half. It was West Park who finally sealed a win with two well engineered tries in the last quarter of the game to run out deserved victors, But Northwich must take credit for the effort and commitment shown in a entertaining and enjoyable game to watch. January 2nd U17’s vs Southport Won 54-0 Northwich ran out winners scoring eight tries, seven of which were converted by Mike Bradley. It was the dominant forwards who provided the platform sucking in the Southport defence then the ball was played wide for the backs to score. Excellent support play enabled the ball to be recycled time and time again to keep the momentum flowing. Try scorers were Drew Walker(2), Mike Bradley, Andy Oultram, Mattey Waters, Joe Beker, Howard Green and Mark Johnson.
