26th October U16’s vs Caldy (Home) Won 37-5 Northwich romped home with a comprehensive victory over Caldy, with tries from Mark Johnson (3), Drew Walker (3) and Adam Thomas(1) with one try converted by Sam Naylor. Return to fixtures 23rd November U16’s vs Sedgeley Park (Home) Lost 12-44 Northwich were comprehensivly beaten by Sedgeley in all facets of the game scoring eight try's in total. The only bright spot for Northwich came in the 2nd half for a brief period they scored two tries through Sam Naylor and Adam Thomas, one being converted to make the score line read Northwich 12, Sedgeley 18.To improve Northwich have got to apply and compete for the whole of the match not in sporadic bursts. This may be due to lack of fitness and tactical awarness. Hopefully this will be rectified in forthcoming matches. Return to fixtures 7th March U16’s vs Ormskirk (Away) Won 39-12 After 2 narrow defeats against West Park (21-17) and Wirral (17-15) Northwich came back to record a convincing win against a spirited Ormskirk side. First to score was Mark Johnson, Howard Green, Tom Stringer (2) Tom Fallon, Mark Hewitt and Drew Walker. Sam Naylor Converted two. Ormskirk scored two trys and 1 conversion. Return to fixtures 14th March U16’s vs Widnes (Away) Won 22-15 The first half saw a series of rucks & mauls, with top bomber Dave Garner diving over near the right hand side of the posts to mkae the score 5-0. In the second half, against the elements Northwich initially struggled conceding 2 tries. However Sam Naylor plucked the ball out of an attacking loose maul passig out to Tom Stringer who darted into the right hand side posts to score make the score 12-15. Following a midfield switch of Almark and Johnson which bamboozled the defence from the ensuring ruck, Chunky rolled off and touched down on the right hand side posts to make it 17-15. The try of the match came from the following scrum, Walker Number 8 picked up, got quick ruck ball out to Joe Beker, who then scamped into the right hand corner with an artistic dive into the try area. Return to fixtures 21st March U16’s vs Macclesfield (Away) Lost 20-14 In a closely fought contest, Morthwich conceeded three tries in the first half courtesy of the Macclesfield’s livelier 3/4's. Half time Macc 15 Northwich 0. However Northwich came back into the game through their more dominant pack, scored two tries by Drew Walker and Mike Bradley both converted by Mark Johnson, to make the score 15 - 14. Macc scored a late try. Final score Macc 20 Northwich 14
