After a busy few months of fixtures, the U15’s enjoyed a skiing excursion to the Bavarian resort of Runcorn situated in the Cheshire Andes which is a region of the North England Rockies on the 22nd December 2002.
After spending a short time acclimatizing to the high altitude of the Rockies, the party led by Blashford-SymtheNaylor trekked to the base camp at Moss Farm positioned at the foot of Mt. Runcorn, from this camp they climbed to the ski lodge perched on the summit of this magnificent mountain, here they indulged in a spot of recreational skiing to blow the cobwebs away.
All this physical activity had given them a ravenous hunger and a raging thirst, so the party was transported by a passing Yak caravan to a local friendly Sherpa hostelry where they proceed to slake the thirst and hunger. Once the bill was paid a rapid descent to base camp was made in atrocious conditions, luckily there were no casualties and everybody successfully completed the trek.

2001-2 Season’s Report (as U14’s)
A disappointing season, potentially a very good side possessing good all round ball skills with a number of excellent individual players, but cannot seem to knit together as a team. Notoriously slow starters in a match we only start to compete after conceding early scores.

The side unfortunately had an early exit from the Cheshire Cup at the hands of a useful Dukinfield outfit played in atrocious conditions. Towards the end of the season at the Caldy U14’s competition with an under strength side we defeated Chester and Caldy, lost narrowly to Sandbach and Stockport, then were inexplicably beaten by a poor Newcastle side. This mirrored our season entirely, performing well against strong opposition, under achieving against mediocre teams. I feel with more effort in midweek preparation for Sunday’s fixtures we can achieve a great deal more.

Even though the results did not go in our favour, the players really enjoyed themselves and still retain a positive attitude toward the game and cannot wait until the start of next season.

The Awards day was an extremely robust affair with a party of 37 competing in different paint ball scenarios at Windmill Wood Knutsford.
