U11 Match Data 2003-4
5th October U11's vs Congleton (Home) Northwich played a 7's tournament against an under strenght Congleton side. Back to back matches with Northwich A & B sides saw good tries from Nieve Jones, Melisaa Beesley & Mark Stone. Return to fixtures 19th October U11's vs Wilmslow (Home) Lost 28-0 The Under 11's continue to improve but conceded 3 tries in the first half. However rucking and mauling improved in the second half to help threaten Wilmslow's line, to give a respectable result, given that Wilmslow are one of the better sides in Cheshire at this age group. Return to fixtures 26th October U11's vs Caldy Lost 4-0 & Collegiate Drew 2-2 (Caldy) The Under 11's slow start and poor tackling let them down in the Caldy game. However the team rallied with much improved play with two tries from Melissa Beesley against Collegiate which they deserved to win, only drawing in the dying seconds to a try from quick thinking Collegiate. Return to fixtures 23rd November U11's vs Manchester Lost 3-0 & Leigh Lost 2-1 (Manchester) The Under 11's continue to improve every week as they gain match experience. Melissa Beesley & Kieran Berrington were excellent again in both encounters. Kieran scoring the only try against Leigh. Return to fixtures 30th November U11's vs Crewe (home) The Under 11's continued to improve their match performance with a well balanced game combining good mauling and rucking with movement through the backs. Northwich gave away a couple of tries to Crewe & Nantwich to make the scores close at the end but three tries from Nieve Jones, Melissa Beesley and Sam Gough with conversions from Kieran Berrington made sure they came out victors in the end. Return to fixtures 25th January U11's vs Winnington Park & Sandbach (Winnington Park) Winnington Park Won 21-7 This was the first win ever for the U11's team against Winnington Park as the whole team put in a magnificent performance with good support play, tackling and running. Sandbach Won 28-0 The U11's made it two wins on the day as they managed 4 tries against Sandbach. Particular praise should go to Jack Woolley who had a great game and scored two tries. Return to fixtures 21st February U11's vs Ormskirk (Home) Lost 44-0 The Under 11's were just not in this encounter at all. In from Northwich should been a match for Ormskirk but with no tackling and little enthusiasm Northwich just couldn't stop Ormskirk from scoring at will. Sam Gough, Thea Breau and Mark Stone for Northwich managed to battle gallantly but with no support from their teammates just couldn't make an impression. Return to fixtures 28th February U11's vs Chester A & B (Away) Lost 28-0 & Won 35-0 The Under 11's made up for their poor performance last week with excellent games against Chester. They let the Chester A team get on top for the first half but after that played very well and ran in seven tries in the B game. Thea Breu was excellent again in the scrum. Return to fixtures 14th March U11's Cheshire Cup (Altricham Kersal) Under 11's had a disapointing day at Altrincham only reaching the plate competition. Return to fixtures
