Trevor,
Many thanks for your kind thoughts...I will pass on your best wishes on to Simon.

For your information, we collected him from Charring Cross Hospital and he was subsequently kept in overnight at our local hospital as a precaution. I am told he will be discharged later today pending a scan. The initial diagnosis is that he has suffered a depressed fracture of a vertebrae.
But for Simon's unfortunate injury we had an excellent day. The game was played in a good spirit and as I said to you in the North Tryline afterwards I think that overall you just deserved to win!!
Good luck for the rest of the season and, yes, I do hope we can play each other again in the future
Kind regards,
Neil G Klenk

Hi Sam

Congratulations on yet another tremendous achievement with your victory at Twickenham yesterday. The players, coaching staff and members of your club did a fantastic job both on and off the pitch. The support from the town was superb and every member of Northwich Rugby Club should be proud of what has been achieved so far this season.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day at Twickenham, the game was great to watch and the atmosphere was superb. Moss Farm are proud to be associated with the rugby club and we hope your success continues to the end of the season and you can make it a 'treble' with the Cheshire Vase!

I will make sure I will inform Richard, Chris, Cheshire County Council and the Joint Management Committee aware of you fantastic achievements.

Best Regards
Paula

NORTHWICH RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB

TWICKENHAM 2007

Thank you so very much for inviting me to attend the semi-final of the EDF Vase. I was most impressed by the standard of rugby.

On behalf of all the residents of Vale Royal I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to everyone associated with Northwich Rugby Club, players, ‘backroom staff’ and supporters, on your success in reaching the EDF final at Twickenham.

I would also like, again on behalf of everyone in Vale Royal, to wish you every success in the final; I am sure that it will be a fantastic day for you all and whilst not everyone will be able to support you in person, I do believe that the whole of Northwich and Vale Royal will be willing you to win.

Finally, can I thank you on behalf of the young people of our Borough for the tremendous activities you, and other voluntary sporting organisations, provide at Moss Farm. Without organisations such as Northwich Rugby Club and your team of volunteers, Vale Royal would not be as great a place as it is to, as our mission statement says, to “Live Work and Play”.

Good Luck in the final and I hope to see you return home with the cup in tow!!

Yours sincerely

Councillor Doug Shingler
Deputy Mayor of Vale Royal

Dear Sam,

On behalf of Burnage rugby club, I would like to congratulate you on your victory yesterday at Twickenham. For a side to gain a resounding league promotion is one thing, to have the strength in depth to progress to the top tier of every competition you enter is quite another, well done on an excellent achievement.

I received many messages and phone calls yesterday from fellow club members asking had I heard from Jed and how you had got on, and all were pleased when I was able to tell them the result.

We are pleased for several reasons. We are delighted for Jed Hill, a player who we know well, who trains and plays hard and thoroughly deserves this reward. We are pleased that a side from South Lancs and Cheshire has won the cup, going some way to demonstrate the strength of rugby in this particular area, a point we found in cross league encounters this season against Cumbrian and Yorkshire sides. And we of course take consolation from the fact that we were knocked out of the competition by the eventual winners.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday for our final game of the season. Tell your players to bring some moulded studs, as the quagmire you saw in February has been baked over recent weeks and is now pretty hard!

Regards,

Sam Jennings
