October 21st U7’s vs Congleton & Helsby (Home) Lost 2-4 & 0-7
Congleton
First game for a new team as a whole the team played really well, some great tagging 2 tries from Jacob Waterhouse.

Helsby.
We used this as a friendly game as Helsby had 4 under 8's playing due to a lack of U7's, The children yet again were superb at tagging it was a hard game, but a good learning curve.

January 13th U7’s vs Caldy (Home) Lost 9-4 & 6-5
Under 7's first match lost 9-4 tries from Charles Frith, Connor Long, Ben Callaghan, Second match 6-5 a very close game tries from Luke McCormick, Hamesh Gooley, Ben Callaghan

January 27th U7’s vs Winnington Park & Wirral (Away)
Team 1 Winnington Park Won 5-2 Wirral Lost 8-2
5-2 win try's Charles Frith, Bradley Williams, Jacob Williams, Luke Mccormick. 2nd game Wirral 8-2 we lost try's from Charles Frith.
Team 2 Winnington Park Lost 6-3 Wirral Lost 10-4
1st game we lost 6-3 try's Ben, Kyle Clarke. 2nd game Wirral we lost 10-4 try's Kyle Clarke, Ben, Connor Long.

February 24th U7’s vs Congleton (Away)
The under 7’s played 2 matches against Congleton in cold wet conditions. The first match was a close game with Northwich coming out with 5 tries to 4. There was excellent tagging with some really good runs, support and open play. Tries were scored by Morgan Brown (2) Charles Firth (2) and Kyle Clarke.

The second match was colder and wetter with Northwich again coming out on top with 5 tries to 2. Niall Costigan who was playing his first match did some great tagging and had a good run until he was bundled into touch. Again there was good tagging and there were some great runs on the increasingly slippery pitch. The tries were scored by Luke McCormick, Kyle Clark (3) and Morgan Brown.

March 2nd U7’s vs Macclesfield (Away) Drew 5-5 & lost 6-0
The first match was a very close match with great weaving runs and good supporting play. Each try was matched by a counter try with Northwich scoring 5 tries and Macclesfield scoring 5 tries. Tries were scored by Kyle Clarke, Morgan Brown (2) and Ben Callaghan (2)

The second match was again a close game on the pitch. Northwich again had some great runs and sustained possession together with great tagging. Unfortunately Northwich lost possession too often with the final score Macclesfield 6 Northwich 0

Overall the team played some great rugby against a formidable opposition.

April 13th U7’s at Cheshire Cup (Away at Bowdon)
Very wet pitches at Bowdon Rugby club welcomed 24 U7’s teams for this year’s cheshire cup. The Pitches quickly turned from Grass to mud but it was a blessing it didn’t rain.

The teams were split into 6 leagues of 4 with Northwich playing Bowdon unicorns, Wirral and Macclesfield Pirates. After some very close games Northwich unfortunately lost to both Wirral and Bowdon but achieved a hard fought 2 v 2 draw against Macclesfield.

Based on the league results teams were split into the knockout stage for the cup, plate or vase. Northwich were drawn against a strong Chester team in the vase. Despite Northwich having much of the possession, Chester won the match and eventually went through to the vase final.

Northwich played excellent rugby including a sustained attack in the Chester match close to their try line where over 15 consecutive passes were made with out a dropped ball.

The Northwich team comprised, Alex Williams, Ben Callaghan, Bradley Williams, Charlie Frith, Jacob Waterhouse, Luke McCormick and Niall Costigan
