U8’s Match Reports 2006-7

October 1st U8’s vs Congleton (Away) Drawn 2-3 & 3-3
Under 8s played two games at Congleton Game 1 score 2-2 Game 2 score 3-3
Northwich played well in both games showing great promise for the coming season. They were strong defensively and in attack. The tries came from good multi-phase rugby and were scored by James Norman, Nathan Flaherty (2) and Jonny Houghton (2). Man of the Match was Joe Byrne in part for his excellent tagging.

November 5th 1st U8’s vs Mold (Home) Lost 5-6 & Won 6-4
Good Support Play Gives Northwich The Edge.

Northwich Under 8s had a squad of 17 for the match against Mold. This gave us the chance to play two separate teams in three mini games. Having lost the first game by a single try (5-6) they focussed on supporting the player with the ball and won the second game by two tries (6-4). Overall this was an excellent performance from all including some new players Billy Hobson playing his first game for Northwich. Tries were scored by James Campbell, Mathew Thomas, Ieuan Lewis (2), Joseph Byrne (3), Jonny Houghton (3), and Man of The Match James Norman (5).
