Robin swoops on Wigan! NORTHWICH chairman Sam Naylor hailed the first team as they made it three wins out of three at Wigan on Saturday 14th December. "Our run has coincided with Jan Cartman being made first team manager, it's improved our cohesion," said Naylor. "We've also had players returning from injury that have made a difference, like captain Rob Heath." Northwich left Wigan for dead in the first half as they went in 23-0 ahead. Scrum half Robin Scurfield crossed for the first try, which was followed by two Steve Campbell penalties.Andy Allan scored the second try before Campbell converted his own try before the break. Wigan dusted themselves down and launched an expected recovery in the second half with four tries, another Campbell penalty Northwich's only reply. With the score finely poised at 26-22 Richard Norton restored daylight with a try before Campbell's fourth penalty made it safe. 15th December 2002
