Senior Committee Meetings
Meetings are scheduled on the following dates. All meetings will be at 8pm at the Hartford Social Club.
Dates :- No meetings formally scheduled yet for 2005-6

Club Tours
The club have a tradition of running rugby tours and trips to help provide new experiences to players, improve team spirit and of course playing standards. Any tour or organised club event should meet the club’s aspirations and be inclusive (open to all club members), transparent (costs should be fully documented), safe (all insurance and RFU permissions should be sought) and all participants should be club members.
All tours and trips should be sanctioned by the club senior committee. For the current season 2004-5, any member wishing to organise a Tour should make a proposal to the club committee at the next meeting on December 14th. The proposal should include information on the Tour and match itinerary as well as all relevant costs.
Questions about the proposal should be addressed to Club chairman Sam Naylor snaylor@northwichrufc.co.uk.

Policy on Club Kit
Thanks to the excellent work of the Junior section we now have an organised and well run club shop, sourcing and supplying a wide range of kit including club shirts, club replica shirts, socks, shorts, leisure wear, gum shields and so on. All items ‘sport’ the club logo and are in keeping with club policy on colours and style. Details of all items currently on offer, as well as prices are all given on the kit web page and are now displayed outside the club shop.
The shop will now be open on both Saturday (at 1.30 pm) when there are home matches and Sunday (not for Mini away games). Please can you direct all enquiries about kit through the shop, which is run by Laraine Dodd ldodd@northwichrufc.co.uk

As we now have a number of established suppliers of quality items, there is no reason why shirts, ties or replica shirts should not be ordered and stocked by the club shop. We currently have plenty of stock of polo shirts, socks and shorts. If anyone wishes to source items not currently offered, or wants more of something previously sourced elsewhere in the past, please direct their enquiry to Laraine or Wendy. Working through the shop will reduce costs (no need to keep asking suppliers to create our logos) and improve our level of discounts (more business through a smaller number of suppliers).
Under no circumstances will the club settle supplier’s invoices which have been ordered directly without an official club shop order number. Will all members who have stock of club items please return them immediately to the shop so these items can go on display and be sold.
Income from the sale of club items is an important source of revenue for the club, please help to develop the shop and cooperate to make this a streamlined and useful resource for all players, members and friends of the club. Lastly if anyone knows of a sponsor who is prepared to help with the cost of shirts or indeed other items, whether for a team in the Junior or Senior section please would they contact Simon Bridle at sbridle@northwichrufc.co.uk or 01606 881971. Information on current sponsors is on the sponsors page. Usually senior strips and junior shirts are funded via donations by sponsors, but only have a ‘shelf life’ of two seasons, so we are always looking for replacements.

Moss Farm Etiquette
This year we are happy to welcome a number of new players and parents to the Northwich Junior Section. Thank you for choosing Northwich, we hope you enjoy many years of playing rugby.
For those of you who are also new to Moss Farm, and a reminder to those ‘old hands’, we’d like to remind everyone of a couple of site policies. Firstly, for safety reasons Moss Farm is a dog free zone. Please leave your dog at home. Secondly for those players with dirty kit after training or a game, who want to go into the clubhouse for a drink or meal, can they please bring a change of clothing or take a shower before coming into the clubhouse.
No dirty kit in the clubhouse please!
Thanks for your cooperation                     Simon Bridle September 2004

Email & Computer Viruses
I know that a number of you are experiencing problems with your computer due to viruses. I know that often internet providers (ISP) provide some protection but you can never be too safe. Never open an email from someone you do not know. If you are having problems please try the following free virus checker from Housecall. This is a web based virus checker and should sort out most initial problems. After that make sure you contact your ISP to see what options are open to you. If you need more advice please let us know.

Email & Computer Viruses
I’ve heard that a number of club members have experienced problems with their computer locking up or going very slow. This is probably due to the computer collecting many software viruses. These get there through emails sent from dubious sources (spam, adware, etc etc), not from the club web site. Once you are connected to the internet your email address is a target for all sorts of scams etc., even more so if your email address is openly published in a popular web page (like www.northwichrufc.co.uk) Never open an email from someone you do not know. I recently purged a computer which had accumulated over 300 viruses.
Even if it’s broken its likely that your computer can be fixed. Try the following free virus checker from Housecall. This is a web based virus checker and should sort out your initial problems, but you must buy or use good security software. eg Norton Internet Security. If you need more advice please email us at enquiries@northwichrufc.co.uk.
