Year 3/4 Schools Tournament Thursday 25th May

Well someone must have praying for good weather, as the sun came out for this years 3/4 tournament. 15 teams took part from 11 schools and we even managed to find a ‘All Stars’ squad to make 16 teams, the most number of teams we’ve ever had for a Year 3/4 event. St Wilfred’s made the best of their group with close up matches against other schools from Hartford to win the tournament, but as usual everyone had a great time and put in a 110% commitment. Well done everyone

Year 5/6 Schools Tournament Thursday 6th July

Well what a fabulous day, the sun came out, 244 children took part from 20 schools with 521 tries scored. I’m sure that’s a record and like last year we’ll be applying to Guinness World Records to claim the tournament was the ‘World’s Largest Junior Tag Rugby Tournament’. It will be a few months before we hear but we’ll let you know as soon as we get confirmation from Guinness World Records. Here are the all the scores and placings thanks to our Excel spreadsheet, we just need a better printer to give you more information on the day! Please let us know if you want more copies of the scores as we can set each ‘sheet’ so it can be easily to downloaded.
Thank you and well done everyone for taking part and joining the spirit of the event. There will be more Tag tournaments in September, we’ll keep you posted on the details. Meanwhile well done all the pool winners for sticking tenaciously to the games. There was only one round where a team won all their pool games, and as you can see below only try difference separated teams in some Round 1 pools.
We’d also like make a special thanks Sue Mills (Sandiway), Gareth Davies (Winnington Park School) and Hazel Sexton (Hartfrod Riddings Lane) for stepping in at the last minute to provide teams after Over St. John’s School dropped out at the last moment.

Photographs of the day will be posted here shortly on a password protected page. We will email the password details to each school separately - photograph page
