Pre-Season Report
Northwich have enjoyed excellent preparation for the coming season 2005/6. The club have welcomed the arrival of a new Head Coach Chris Chudleigh. Chris has brought discipline and commitment to his sessions with Tuesday and Thursday evening training enthusiastically attended by around 45 players.
We have also welcomed the return of Steve Campbell back from his spell with Macclesfield. In addition Jamie Miritana has joined the club from New Zealand.
The club entered the annual 9-a-side competition at Oldham. Having entered two teams in the competition the A team went on to win the tournament beating the hosts in the final. We have also arranged three warm up games against Altrincham Kersal, Helsby and Crewe & Nantwich. The first two have been played and the results have left us encouraged and optimistic for the future.
Last years coaching staff have all committed themselves to support Chris throughout the new campaign. This will ensure the best possible development for all our playing member.
Jonathan Simpson has been appointed Club Captain with Andy Stanley 2nd XV and Ian Dale 3rd XV Captains. In addition Rob Heath will undertake the role of 1st XV Team Manager. Our opening league game will be away at Vagabonds (Isle of Man) on Saturday 3rd September. As is tradition with Northwich there will be an advanced party of some 40 people going on the Friday. Their mission is to deprive the island of alcohol.
